Christmas Time 2008

Our family seems to be up on keeping the tradition of being sick at all holidays in 2008 alive! We had a wonderful Christmas surrounded by family and friends but we were SOOOOO sick with a nasty stomach bug! Greg is the only one who escaped the nasty little bug.  The sickness did cause a lack of pictures but here are a few highlights from the holiday season.

Matthew being super cute at the park!
Big brother Jacob having fun!
Jacob and Grammy hanging out in their favorite spot, the couch! Jacob LOVES getting cozy with Grammy and snuggling under her electric blanket.  He is a real snuggle bug.
Jacob and Matthew both have a Christmas Box at Grammy and Pappys.  They get to open a door everyday in December until Christmas.  Matthew got a Rudolph nose for a present. He loved it! What a cutie pie!!!
Christmas at Mam maw and Pa paw's house in Atoka, TN.
Christmas at Grammy and Pappy's house!
Uncle Matt gave Jacob a new train set!! WOOT WOOT... what a great present.
Jacob was super excited about his new remote control monster trucks.
Matthew loves his green worm from Uncle Matt.
Santa really liked the cookies Jacob made him!
Daddy helped Jacob make cookies for Santa with Jacob.  I was in the bed sick :(

A FedEx Dream Come True....

Jacob showing off his ID badge!
Greg wanted Jacob to sit on  the ledge of the engine.  Jacob wouldn't have any part of that! The engine might suck him up, he said!

Jacob loves all things FedEx.  He plans on being an Air Traffic Controller for FedEx, of course, when he grows up.  Then the next day he is going to be a aircraft mechanic, possibly a pilot, and maybe even a boss.  Whatever the job may be it all revolves around the purple and orange, FedEx.  On Saturday, December 6, Jacob got to go behind the scenes for FedEx family day.  Greg took him to FedEx hangar 11 & 12 for an up close and personnel look at planes, tugs, and other equipment.  Before they left the house Greg made Jacob his own ID badge.  He was sooo proud of his badge!  They had a great day together.  I had a Homemade Gourmet event so Matthew stayed with Grammy and Pappy.  Next year I hope the whole family can attend this neat event!

Pappy made Matthew a birthday banner.

Matthew's 2nd birthday wasn't what we had planned but the party turned out fabulous!  Poor little guy was sick, so we cancelled the Kindermusik party and stayed at home.  Matthew's Grandparents came over to help us celebrate.  We had a most delicious dinner, my favorite, nachos!  Pappy whipped up some homemade whip cream for the pumpkin pie.  Matthew wasn't shy about sampling his birthday cake.  Pappy bought him a small cake and Jacob and Matthew took their forks and dug in!!!  Matthew enjoyed opening presents and had a blast all night!  We were sorry that we did not get to celebrate with his little friends but he still had a wonderful birthday.
I can hardly believe my little baby is 2!  Matthew entered this world very fast, cried for the first 4 months of his little life! He is now the sweetest the little guy!  He is so full of personality.  Fear is not in his vocabulary.  The higher he can climb the better!  He LOVES his brother and wants to be just like him.  I look forward to seeing his smiling face every morning and wonder what he will find to explore today.
Happy Birthday, Matthew!!!!

An "Under the Weather" Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving 2008 for the Williams gang was low key and spent at home.  Winter brings cool temps, which I love, but it also brings the sick bug, which I very much dislike!!  Jacob and Matthew have both been under the weather.  They have been medicated and hooked up to breathing treatments twice a day.  Poor little boys.  Both boys had a doctor visit which took forever but we survived!  Jacob weighed in at 43 lbs and Matthew weighed 31 lbs.  Needless to say, Matthew had to say home for Turkey Day but Jacob was better so he joined Pappy, Grammy, and Mam-maw Mams at the trolley barn.  Pappy had to work so they whizzed by Picadilly for a to-go Thanksgiving Feast.  Greg, Matthew and I also had a to-go turkey day dinner thanks to Cracker Barrel.  Not so tasty, I must say!

Jacob had a blast at the trolley.  Considering his love for all forms of transportation this was not a surprise.  After the fun at the trolley, Grammy brought Jacob home and we got a few Christmas decorations out.  More to come on the making of Christmas House 2008!

Although, our Thanksgiving was not typical we were together!  I am so thankful for all of God's blessings.  He has blessed us upon measure... with a wonderful family and friends.

"First Time" Blogger

Here I am in bloggersville.  Not sure exactly what I am doing but I know I need to record our family memories and scrapbooking is just not happening! The other day I was looking through some of my scrapbooking supplies and sat down to browse through the books.  Jacob has the most wonderful baby book and his milestones are so creatively recorded!! My poor little Matthew has a half put together baby book and virtually no milestones creatively recorded.  So this blog is in honor of him!!  I will do my best to record his precious personality as well as the rest of the family on our new blog. Here's to trying something new!!
